I don’t exactly have a flower garden…YET! However, I have a lot of planters that are full of petunias, fuchsias, decorative grass, and mini licorice plants. I love petunias because they’re pet and child friendly, plus they have some of the BOLDEST colours there are for flowers. This is my first year having fuchsias, and let me tell you, they are STUNNING!
Most of these aren’t my “normal” go to’s for flowers. Generally I have hundreds of lily blooms, along with my petunias, but unfortunately when Hailey was born, it was Thanksgiving weekend in 2016, the weekend we normally dig up my lily bulbs as they cannot handle the Alberta winter in the ground, but it didn’t happen. They all went mushy and didn’t produce. *major sad face* When we move, which will be next year, I’ll be planting Dahlia’s, Daffodils, Tulips, Lilies, Petunias, Fuchsias, and a whole boat load of berry bushes along with the rest of my usual veggies.
I want to have a warm, bright, inviting backyard to spend our entire summer out in with the girls, our friends and family. Our front yard will also house flowers, but likely more shrubs and rose bushes than anything!
